The Cathedral Foundation, Inc. presents the 2nd annual Tri-State Black Pride weekend in Memphis, TN. “People & Purpose: The Impact” is a four-day celebration June 14-17, 2018, featuring a series of events such as health & wellness fair, empowerment workshops, fashion shows, liberal arts, awards ceremony, social engagement and nightly entertainment. June 14th will be the apex of the weekend with the opening reception at the National Civil Rights Museum. This event highlights awareness of the social and economic injustices people of color in the LGBTQ community are facing. 2018 marks the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.’s Assassination and the National Civil Rights Museum is a befitting place to host this event. Tri-State Black Pride will bring together the rich heritage of Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi for an impactful weekend to celebrate what peace, justice and equality should look like for us all.
